Signs Your AC Needs Repair
Not sure whether it's time to call a technician? Most Houston-area homeowners notice the same handful of warning signs before an air conditioner fails — and nearly all of them get worse the longer you wait. The most common is an AC not blowing cold air, which usually points to a clogged filter, low refrigerant, or a failing compressor. You might also notice weak airflow from the vents or some rooms cooling unevenly, warm air coming through even with the thermostat set to cool, or water and refrigerant leaks pooling around the indoor or outdoor unit. Strange noises like grinding, banging, or squealing are another red flag, as are rising energy bills with no change in how much you're running the system. And if your AC keeps cycling on and off, or won't turn on at all, that's a clear signal it needs professional attention.
